ARCH 3020: Foundation Studio IV - Spring 2015
This project is the design for a complex located in Brooklyn, New York which includes a library, a cinema, rehearsal spaces, offices and a central classical music auditorium. Based on the Berlin Philharmonic, the new auditorium is composed of a series of smaller terraced booths which allow the audience member to be part of a crowd and feel as if she is amongst a smaller group of people. It places the viewer in a more intimate setting. The performers are not able to see the entire crowd, rather the floor section, which allows them to be seen without feeling lost in the crowd or intimidated.
