Venice is dealing with many ecological and environmental issues such as flooding and erosion. The cruise ships navigating in the canals are the cause of erosions and rising water levels, the increasing pollution, and mass tourism. “Redirecting” suggests the relocation of the cruise port, and uses the principle of the Venturi effect, allowing dirty water to exit, and clean water to enter the city faster. With the new position of the ports the ships do not navigate in the canals. These ports also act as cultural centers for tourists, creating awareness for venetian culture .
