This project consisted of using exactly 52 cards to create a 18" long cantilever as well as its tie to the railing in order to hold a tennis ball without it falling, for 7 days. Cutting pieces of the cards or using adhesives and any other material of any sort was not allowed.
For this card cantilever we used the triangle as it is the strongest shape, the concepts of tension (card rope) and compression (card tubes), and increased the height to keep the structure steady. The structure held the tennis ball for 7 days without breaking or bending.
